CDV™– Certified Dementia Volunteer™– through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

This seminar provides
volunteers who interact and care for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia specialized training to ensure appropriate, sensitive, and effective service delivery. An informed approach can greatly impact this population.

Register for course (payment $195)

Receive confirmation email including Zoom details for the day of the seminar

Attend entire course to qualify to apply for CDV status

Complete course evaluation (send to KC)

Receive course certificate (from KC)

Complete CDV application online with NCCDP 30 days post-seminar (including $75 payment to NCCDP)

Renew CDV every two years by taking the ADDC Seminar as a refresher
Requirements
1. Those actively serving as a volunteer at a care facility, hospital, rehab center, hospice care, home care, agency, association, etc. that provides dementia care services
2. Minimum of 1- year completed with at least 55 hours per year, and currently an active volunteer with clients diagnosed with dementia
3. High school graduate
4. At least 18 years of age
5. Completed the NCCDP Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Seminar curriculum by a NCCDP CADDCT Trainer in good standing
6. Letter from Volunteer Director/Administrator/Executive Director verifying status of participation, in good standing, and service hours
Seminar Instructor: Kari Johnson, OTR/L, CDP®, CADDCT®, CMDCP®, CMDCPT™, BCPA
Kari is an Occupational Therapist, Certified Dementia Practitioner®, Certified Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care Trainer®, Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional®, Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional Trainer™, and a Board Certified Patient Advocate with over 25 years of healthcare experience. She began her career as a CNA, practiced as a Social Worker in the United Kingdom, and has been an occupational therapist for 14 years.
Kari uniquely weaves her personal experiences, in addition to her professional experiences, into the content that will be presented. The course review comments consistently mention her teaching style, interesting professional and personal case examples, and the immediate applicability to the real-life situations attendees face in their own roles.

$75 cancellation fee. No fee to switch to another course date (see flexible scheduling below).
Flexible Scheduling: Mix and match morning/day/evening 1 and 2 seminars. Also, you may attend the 1st half of a full-day seminar and finish the 2nd half on a different date.
